Give Up and Use Tables
"We've scientifically determined the max amount of time that you should need to make a layout work in CSS: 47 minutes. When your time is up, we'll even give you the table code you need. Take 3 minutes to build a table. Bill the client for an hour. Done."

reCAPTCHA: Stop Spam, Read Books
This is an interesting idea: Digitize books by filling out CAPTCHAs (those cryptic words you have to type in to prove you are a human being)

"Prop 8 - The Musical" starring Jack Black, John C. Reilly, and many more… from FOD Team, Jack Black, Craig Robinson, John C Reilly, and Rashida Jones
Very funny. And Jack Black is the bestest Jesus ever.

My favorite is the car fitted with semi exhaust pipes.

  2. I gotta agree with tables. The new wordpress has a left sidebar that incorrectly expands when using the NoSquint plugin (which had no problems with the last 2 versions or wordpress, or, well… the rest of the internet. There used to be SLIGHT problems with gmail [wrong font size when composing new messages] but that went away too).

And I know if this sidebar was a table, I wouldn’t be left having to decrease my font size EVERYTIME I edit a wordpress post, only to have to turn around and increase it EVERYTIME i want to READ a wordpress post.

YARRRR. If they’d just used a table instead of cute DIVs, it would have worked. They slit my throat on the cutting edge of technology.

  4. I challenge you to view text at default size on a 52-inch 1920×1080 from 6 ft away even with LASIK :)

  5. I love that they posted the one-day spike in web traffic they got off that site from google analytics in the behind the scenes part.

  6. That was pretty interesting; a great visual of the sudden and brief arrival and departure of the internet masses!
